The hotel’s a bit out of the way in Oimachi, about 30 minutes from spots like Shibuya and Ueno, but costs half as much as similar places. Our room was small but the most comfortable we’ve had in Tokyo, and while the neighborhood isn’t lively at night, there are some good restaurants nearby. It’s also close to Science Tokyo, making it a solid pick for visiting researchers.
